Practical tips and answers to frequently asked questions.

Weddings

Do you offer shorter wedding coverage?

Yes, I offer both full-day and shorter wedding coverage. I can photograph just the ceremony and your couple’s portraits, or another part of the day that matters to you.

We’ll agree on the length of coverage individually, based on your schedule and wishes.

What should we discuss before the wedding?

A separate meeting isn’t necessary, but please send me your wedding day schedule in advance, including the times and locations of the main events. This helps me prepare and plan the photography.

Let me know about any special wishes or moments you particularly want captured. We can discuss any questions by message.

How much time should we allow for our couple’s portraits?

I recommend allowing at least one hour so we can take photographs without rushing and you can have a little time together.

If we need to travel to the location, allow extra time for the journey.

What if it rains on our wedding day?

I recommend having umbrellas ready so the rain doesn’t catch you unprepared. They’ll be useful both when moving between locations and during your couple’s portraits.

We’ll adapt the photography to the weather — rainy days can make for beautiful, atmospheric photographs too.

How many wedding photographs will we receive?

With full-day wedding coverage, you’ll receive more than 800 edited photographs.

For shorter coverage, the number depends on how long I photograph and what happens during the day.

When will we receive our wedding photographs?

You’ll receive a first preview within a couple of days of your wedding, so you can look back on the day and share your first photographs.

You’ll receive all your edited wedding photographs within 100 days of the wedding.

How will we receive our wedding photographs?

With full-day wedding coverage, you’ll receive a selection of prints and a USB drive containing your edited photographs.

For shorter wedding coverage, I’ll send you a link to a private gallery where you can view and download your photographs.

Do you photograph weddings outside Latvia?

I photograph weddings in Latvia, but I’d be happy to discuss capturing your day abroad too.

If you’re planning a wedding in another country, tell me about your plans, location and date, and we’ll discuss the possibilities and details.

Can we book wedding photography and video together?

Yes! Booking wedding photography and filming together gives you a better price than booking the services separately.

Tell us your wedding date, venue and how much photography and filming coverage you’d like, and we’ll put together an offer for you.

Privacy policy

Welcome! Please read this privacy policy to learn what data I collect, how I use it and what rights you have.

1. Who am I?

I, Vija Breijere, a wedding and portrait photographer, am the controller of your personal data. You can contact me at vijabreijere@gmail.com or +371 29947382.

2. What data do I process, and why?

I process only the data needed to:

When you contact me, I may receive your name, email address, phone number, planned date, venue, selected service and message. If we communicate on social media, I may also process your profile name and correspondence.

3. Legal basis

I process data needed before or during a contract on the basis of your request to arrange a service and the performance of that contract. I retain invoices and accounting information to meet legal obligations. I may rely on legitimate interests to keep communications secure and protect my rights.

4. Photographs, videos and portfolio

Photographs and videos in which a person can be identified may be personal data. For portfolio or marketing publications, I use only material whose use has been agreed with the client and, where necessary, other people shown or a child’s legal representative. Publication arrangements are recorded separately, for example in a contract or written consent.

If you do not want your images published, please tell me before we enter into a contract or email vijabreijere@gmail.com. I will assess any justified request to delete images or stop publishing them.

5. Copyright

The photographs and videos I create are my original works and are protected by the Latvian Copyright Law. The service price, the client’s rights to use the delivered material and any transfer of economic copyright are set out in a separate contract. This privacy policy does not itself transfer copyright or replace a contract.

6. Privacy choices and pricing

If an offer includes a price difference for permission to use material in a portfolio or for full confidentiality, the specific conditions, duration and amount are stated in the offer or contract. Access to the service must not be made conditional on consent to marketing publications.

7. How long do I keep data?

I keep enquiries that do not lead to a booking for 6 months after the last correspondence, then delete them from WordPress and email unless the data is needed to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. Applicable law determines how long contracts, invoices and accounting records must be retained.

We agree on photograph and video retention periods, backups and delivery arrangements in the contract or a separate agreement.

8. Who may have access to data?

Data may be available to me and authorised technical service providers, such as hosting or email providers, only to perform their tasks. Data may be disclosed to a competent authority where required by law.

9. Cookies and external services

To operate the website, the server may process technical information such as your IP address. The contact form uses security tokens and limits repeated submissions. If a YouTube player is loaded, Google may process technical data. Clicking an Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube or WhatsApp link takes you to that service, where its own terms apply.

10. Your rights

You have the right to request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent. Please write to vijabreijere@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate.

I update this policy if the website’s operation or use of data changes. The current version is always available here.
