Photo sessions
What should I wear to a photo session?
I recommend neutral, complementary colours such as cream, beige, grey, brown or muted green. Choose clothes you feel comfortable and confident in.
For a couple or family session, you don’t need matching outfits. Pick two or three complementary colours and combine them across your outfits. Try to avoid large lettering, bold logos and busy patterns that draw attention away from you.
Think about footwear too — it should suit both your outfit and the location.
If you’re unsure, send me pictures of your outfit options before the session and I’ll help you choose.
What should I bring to a photo session?
Water, a comb and a small mirror can be useful. If you wear make-up, bring anything you might need for a quick touch-up.
For an outdoor session, dress for the weather. On cooler days, bring a warm jacket to wear between photographs and comfortable shoes for getting to the location.
If children are joining, bring a drink, a small snack, spare clothes and a favourite toy.
If you’d like to use special accessories or change outfits, we can discuss this before the session.
I don’t know how to pose — will you help?
Yes! You don’t need experience in front of a camera or to practise poses beforehand. During the session, I’ll guide you on where to stand, how to turn and what to do with your hands.
We’ll take our time so you can get used to the camera and feel more relaxed. A walk, a conversation or a hug often works better than a carefully planned pose. I want you to recognise yourself in the photographs.
How should I prepare my children for a photo session?
Tell your child that you’ll be spending time together and taking some photographs. There’s no need to ask them to behave perfectly or smile at the camera all the time.
Choose a time that works around their sleep and meal routine — children usually feel better when they’re rested and fed. Bring a favourite toy, water and a small snack.
We’ll allow time to settle in and take a break if needed. Children don’t have to sit still throughout the session — play, movement and cuddles are part of your family’s story too.
Where can the photo session take place?
We can photograph outdoors, in the city or in a studio. We’ll choose a location together, based on the mood you’d like and the time of year.
If you already have somewhere in mind, let me know. It could be a place that means something to you. If you need ideas, I’ll be happy to suggest locations.
For studio sessions, the client pays the studio hire separately from the photography fee.
What is the best time for an outdoor photo session?
I usually recommend the evening, when the light is softer. It can be especially beautiful shortly before sunset.
We’ll agree on a start time based on the season, location and weather. For families with young children, we’ll also take their daily routine into account.
What if it rains on the day of our photo session?
If rain makes an outdoor session difficult, I usually offer to reschedule for another time that works for both of us.
We’ll be in touch before the session and decide based on the weather. An overcast day isn’t a reason to reschedule — beautiful photographs don’t depend on sunshine.
How long is a photo session, and how many photographs will I receive?
A mini session lasts 30 minutes and includes at least 50 edited photographs.
A standard session lasts 1 hour and includes at least 100 edited photographs.
We can discuss your plans and decide which option would suit you best.
When and how will I receive my photographs?
You’ll usually receive your edited photographs within two weeks. Editing may take longer during the wedding season — we’ll agree on an estimated delivery time when you book.
I’ll send you a link to a private gallery where you can view and download your photographs.
How do I book a photo session?
Get in touch through the website’s contact form, WhatsApp, email or phone. Tell me what kind of session you’d like and when you’re planning it.
We’ll agree on a date, time and location. No advance payment is required to book a photo session.
Can I buy a gift voucher for a photo session?
Yes! I offer printed gift vouchers for a mini session (30 minutes) or a standard session (1 hour).
The voucher is valid for six months from the date of purchase. The recipient arranges the date and time of their session with me separately.
Vouchers can be collected in person or sent by post or to a parcel locker. Get in touch to choose a session and arrange delivery or collection.
